Asalaam Aleikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatu,
Basically, just to explain what's going on:
The place where I pray jumu'a has no Imam yet, and so it's just regular people (non-scholars) who give the khutbahs.
Since the person giving the khutbahs this week is unable to give the khutbas anymore, and the masjid couldn't book anyone else (they really tried but nobody could do it), I volunteered to substitute for this week, since I could base it on my old article.
on November 12, 2005 6:19 PMi recently came home from a party, i was in the party mood so i was going to listen to music. by the grace of Allah (SWT) it's as if my soul told me to listen to this khutba first and foremost. and for a good reason. Allah (SWT) knows best what is in our hearts and i ask Him to purify them and forgive us of our sins.
the khutba is amazing. my favorite part is when the imam explains to the brothers why the Muslim Ummah must stand shoulder-to-shoulder and feet-to-feet. blew me away because nobody, nowadays, explains this simple but extremely powerful act.

Subhaanallaah. May Allah (Ta'aalaa) make this a means of continuing reward before and after Rami's death.
"Abu Hurayrah (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying, 'When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or beneficial knowledge, or a pious son, who makes du'a for him.'"

Br. Rami, your title is very true...you do write better than you speak, based on sampling your spoken kuthba vs your numerous articles that I have perused here.
BUT...your Kuthba was way better than any of my Kuthbas that I ever gave when I was your age in College.
So, keep up the good work and keep building your skills, Insha'Allah.
Ma'Assalaama
