For most Muslims, Ramadan is a month of relief...and I can't wait for it to come.
Most atheists and agnostic will claim that all religions are non-spiritual, a mere set of rules and regulations that you must follow or an angry God will strike you down. Yet Ramadan is the epitome of spirituality. During this month Muslims make a conscious effort to give up every vice; like backbiting, quarrelling, cursing, hatred, envy, and lust amongst the few. For most of us, this month is a relief from the constant whispering of the accursed Satan and his devils. It is a month to laugh at him because you are spending an entire monthe working on perfecting your prayers, staying away from distractions, and soaking in the Qu'ran into your heart.
Ramadan is the real time of giving, free from the grips of capitalistic influence. In this beautiful month, Muslims become the most generous people on Earth. Even the stingy will open their hearts a little during the month of Ramadan. And the generous become even more generous.
I'm telling you...I just can't wait for Ramadan to come. I want to be on a spiritual high. I want to fill my heart with the Qu'ran, I want to stand for taraweeh till my feet become sore, I want to feel a sense of brotherhood.
This is a time for all of us to lift up our Eman.
I dont know why I have the sudden impulse to say "Mmmm Mmmm Good!"

"O Allah Talah save us from shirk, give us true Tawhid, and give us the best of Your Blessings for its Ramadan."
on October 4, 2005 12:17 AMi'm beginning to catch on to this Hidaya thing! thus far, this has got to be one of my favorite articles. the author raised a good point about generosity, too bad most of the generosity disappears as soon as Ramadan is over. take advantage of the last ten days, i know i will/must, considering the first 20 just slipped away from me...and the shaytaan had nothing to do with it. may Allah ta'ala guide us all to straight path. apologies for the long post.
