For the covenants (of security and safeguard enjoyed) by the Quraish, Their covenants (covering) journeys by winter and summer,- Let them adore the Lord of this House, Who provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear (of danger).
I think half of the problems we have as Muslims would be solved if we merely reminded ourselves.
James Nachtwey.com (This is photography by James Nachtwey, an award-winning photo-journalist. Look at these pictures and know this is what is really happening in the world. Look at Africa, Bosnia, Pakistan, Chechnya. These picture are not happy, but they are real, and they are importatnt to know).
Its scary to think what excuse we will have on the day of Judgement for this.
I find it impossible to do so, how about you?
Think hard, are we using the blessings Allah subhanna wa taala has we should? What will we be accountable for on the day of judgment? Are we not responsible for those who are suffering below us, especially given that we horde the world's wealth and leave the rest to suffer?
May Allah subhanna wa taala forgive us and guide us to using our blessings properly.
As Salaamu alaikum
Subhanallah
truly eye opening.May Allah soften our hearts. If we just sit and ponder on the blessings of Allah Ta'ala on us,and look at those who have not been given these blessings (making Shukr to Allah for HIS kindness upon us),we are engaged in 'Ibaadat Subhanallah. And insha Allah this shall spur us on to get involved and use ourselves to benefit
mankind Insha Allah.Jazakallah for the reminder.

May Allah have mercy on us.Ameen.

You don’t know me but I’m your brother on this land.
You’ll never know my name, never know exactly where I am.
I’m a part of you - you’re a part of me too - one life saved is like all mankind.
Sometimes I wonder about the people in the world.
So much wealth, so many fists so tightly curled.
Enough for you should be enough for two.
One life lost is like all mankind.
You don’t see the look of hate in soldier’s eyes.
You don’t hear my sister cry at night.
You don’t smell the garbage in the street
and you don’t know how very little food we eat.
Not a thing belongs to you or me,
it’s all a trust from divine rich bounty.
The tree of greed grows from a seed
that’s planted when we don’t give.
Do you know how it feels to walk for days?
Do you know how it feels to sleep in snow?
Do you know what it really means to pray?
Can you tell me why they took my dad away?
I don’t mean to seem bold or to seem rude.
I’m not begging for your shelter or your food,
I’m just asking you to care and to be aware.
At the very least pray for me.
Peace be with you,
Signed, Your brother on this land.
