So (give) glory to Allah, when ye reach eventide and when ye rise in the morning; (Qu'ran, 30:17)
Alhamdulillah, Allah subhanna wa taala has let us live to see another morning. We owe thanks to Him for all that He has given us: for forgiving us our deeds of the day before, for keeping secret that which we have put forth, and for giving us the blessings which we always enjoy and usually never take notice of.
Insha Allah, I would like us, if we haven't done it already, to develop the habit of making the first word that comes out of our mouth when we wake up "Alhamdulilah." More specifically:

That is the most important thing I want you to get out of this article insha Allah. I will post two other du'as which (starting with myself) we should try to memorize this week and apply it to our daily life. If you don;t understand why then take this hadith into consideration:
Sunnan Abu Dawud
Book 35, Number 4246:
Narrated AbuMusa al-Ash'ari:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Before the Last Hour there will be commotions like pieces of a dark night in which a man will be a believer in the morning and an infidel in the evening, or a believer in the evening and infidel in the morning. He who sits during them will be better than he who gets up and he who walks during them is better than he who runs. So break your bows, cut your bowstrings and strike your swords on stones. If people then come in to one of you, let him be like the better of Adam's two sons.
May Allah Subhanna wa taala protect us from these trials and let us die as Believers.
WAKING IN THE MORNING

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee AAafanee fee jasadee waradda AAalayya roohee wa-athina lee bithikrih.
‘All praise is for Allah who restored to me my health and returned my soul and has allowed me to remember Him.’
WAKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
The Prophet said : ‘Whoever awakes at night and then says:
i. La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeer, subhanal-lah, walhamdu lillah, wala ilaha illal-lah wallahu akbar, wala hawla wala quwwata illa billahil-AAaliyyil AAatheem.
Rabbigh-fir lee
‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without associate, to Him belongs sovereignty and praise and He is over all things wholly capable. How perfect Allah is, and all praise is for Allah, and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Allah is the greatest and there is no power nor might except with Allah, The Most High, The Supreme.
and then supplicates:
ii. "O my Lord forgive me.’ …will be forgiven’
“or he said: ‘and then asks, he will be answered. If he then performs ablution and prays, his prayer will be accepted’.”

I'm subscribed to the Merriam Webster Word of the Day List. I got this today:
hegira \hih-JYE-ruh\ noun
: a journey especially when undertaken to escape from a dangerous or undesirable situation : exodus
Example sentence:
To escape the lowering clouds of impending war, Grandmother's family embarked on a hegira that would carry them far from their native soil.
Did you know?
"A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country." By the year A.D. 622, the prophet Muhammad had learned that painful lesson. In that year, he was forced to flee his native city, Mecca, to escape persecution from those who rejected his message. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, with a number of his followers migrated to Medina, where they were guaranteed protection by local clans. This event, which traditionally marks the beginning of the Islamic era, is known in Arabic as the "Hijra" -- literally, "departure." That Arabic term passed into Medieval Latin (where it was modified to "Hegira") and from there it eventually made its way into English. By the mid 18th century, English speakers were using "hegira" for other journeys, too -- especially arduous ones.
