I pace
Stomach growling
Passions howling
Demanding satiation
Zuhd’s emaciation
Eating my own sighs
Feeding others my lies
Hearing my soul fry
And whetting my lips
Wanting the whole pie
Forget the piece!
My whispers never cease
Don’t buy, just lease!
Here! Hold the keys!
How does your hand feel?
This is what is real
These sensory meals
Taqwa is just the peel
That covers this reality
Your allowed to cop a feel
No need to commit
Just taste and spit!
Don’t worry, its all legit!
Don’t think too much
You are already tired
Who cares about getting hired
When you can just shoplift
The stuff that gets you wired?
Relax, I am no liar
I am here to take you higher
Than the notes of a church’s choir
Ever could
Just come and sit with me on the pyre
Enjoy the wood
As it toasts in the cozy fire
The flames can be mesmerizers
Erotic dancers
Delicious cancers
That eat away at your heart
And that you eat with Desire
Your true friend
Like me!
Together we will set you free
From all this puritanical guilt crap
That must be hidden under the map
Of what you know to be your feelings
So that we can have more dealings
That will send your nafs reeling
Cuz pleasure doesn’t have a ceiling
Only a floor
Bedecked with wanton whores
Of the ‘sensory’
And I am your door
To this room of duniya lies
The first taste is free
And then you’ll need more
That’s what you’re here for!
Just give it a try
Only gullible losers are shy
Cuz there is no final Hour
No one can see Judgement’s towers
Or all those make-believe powers
That they say He has
The only thing real is this room
You are living in a vacuum
Don’t worry about the floor falling
Its never gonna happen to you
I am always here in you
You don’t need to be afraid
I wont ever leave you alone
I am that unacknowledged drone
That static that you hear
Whenever you have a creation fear
That whispy windy sound that dries those tears
That you struggle to emit for Him
And just for Him
I am there picking you up
After you have fallen on the musallah
Degrading your self for Allah!!!
You are too magnificent to be prostrating
Like me.
But don’t worry
I always get you to hurry
I am here to pick you up when you’ve fallen
And get you on your feet so you wont be trodden
By the realization of your deeds
Myself-forbid, you take heed
Of His lies of Forgiveness
So let me take the lead
Your dignity I’ll mend
I am your true friend
Always there, ready to lend
My personal pyre for you to sit upon
To rest your weary mind
And leave the guilt baggage behind
Until you meet my end
Because I am your truest friend.

on February 6, 2005 11:00 PMWow. I have Outkast approval.
I have lived.
on February 7, 2005 12:29 AMI am kidding of course. The real compliment is knowing that someone who likes to put rhymes together, like br. Irfan, actually approves.

Mash Allah,
very good poem in deed. May Allah open the hearts of men who try in His Path. Just want to reach to the brothers and sisters out there: dont sit with so called friends who are openly proclaiming and accepting acts of sins. Follow your fitnah s guys and be kind and tender hearted to your fellow brothers and sisters in Islam... even if you might not like some of their characteristics.
JazakAllah
Since you made a big joke out of truebee calling this a rap. I should inform you FYI that I was true bee. LOL!
