This is What Makes Him Cry, Part 4 of 5

by Rami Mahmoud Elsawah

Gardens of Eternity, those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass. (Surat Marium, 61)
---------------------

Fast forward to right now
He looks in the mirror and he sees
A man who stands before him with Eman and with a beard.

Who cries before Allah
For the pain of the suffering of mankind
Of little boys without their mothers
To love and hold them when they cry.

He sees a man who fought his battles
And who's scars show in his eyes
Of battles fought deep inside
With Allah's mercy did he survive

He fought for the faith to feel comfort in Allah
Who used to give him protection from all humanly harm
And to have the innocence to understand
And believe in Him without any societal regard

He thinks of his mother
And he feels a deep love inside
For the beautiful woman he sees
Who gave him love and taught him his deen
Who raised him to be good and do good deeds
To give to the weak and those in need
To love Allah who made him breathe.

The man begins to cry again
Because he's been there...and gone...and back again

He hopes to rescue those that he can
Without mocking their beautiful Eman
For he knows the torment of the bearded men
Who cast down their brothers in anger as shameful heathen

He sees the kibr of the men
Hears the gossip of the women
Who can never seem to remember
That mankind should be ever humble

He remembers the story of a prophet
Who did wrong and sat in darkness
Who praised his Lord when things were helpless
So then would his reward be only gardens bliss.

A reminder of mercy's creator
Who guided him to redemption
Who saved him from his darkness
When his innocence had been forgotten
