This is What Makes Him Cry, Part 2 of 5

by Rami Mahmoud Elsawah

But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction, (Surat Marium, 59)
---------------------

Fast forward back then, to the ten years again,
Look in the mirror and tell me what it is that you see.
A clean shaven face and slicked back hair
And an innocence that is fading with every long unshed tear

He loved his parents
But began to disobey
Would start to listen more to his friends
And follow Shaitan's deceptive way.

He began to miss Fajr
Soon after he would give up the Doha
His car would be filled with beating of drums
Rather than the harmonious sounds of Qu'ranic tongue.

Time was beginning to pass on
The light was beginning to get dimmer
He forgot about his hereafterbr/> His innocence was almost gone

Yet he was still the kindest person that anyone had witnessed
His friends considered his company a thing to be blessed with

For they saw him doing many good deeds
And helping those who were in poorly in need
Those friends who were non-Muslim would say to him indeed
He was a man the likes which they had never seen

And so Allah was ever with him
Even though he went astray
Allah never abandons his creations
Not in any single way
